We think content management got too heavy
Lumen started as a weekend question: if a coding agent can write code, why is it clicking around an admin panel? The answer became a CMS designed agent-first — and pleasant for humans too.
Small engine, sharp edges
Lumenpages CMS is a single Cloudflare Worker. Content lives in D1 — SQLite running at the edge — and media in R2. Pages render server-side from templates that are just HTML with a light expression syntax. No build pipeline, no plugin marketplace, no 40 dependencies between you and a rendered page.
We built it because the alternative was watching agents operate dashboards built for humans in 2005. The Model Context Protocol gave us a cleaner path: expose the content API to agents directly, validate everything the same way the HTTP API does, and let humans review results as HTML in a browser — the way content is actually consumed.
When your agent writes a page, it goes through the same JSON schema validation, the same SQL guard, the same signed-URL rules as everything else. Agent-first doesn't mean guardrails-last.
