What exactly is Lumenpages CMS?

A lightweight headless CMS that runs as a single Cloudflare Worker. Content is stored in D1 (SQLite at the edge), media in R2, and pages are rendered server-side from templates. It's designed to be driven by coding agents over MCP as easily as by humans.

Do I need to write code to build a site?

Not yourself, no. Connect an MCP client like opencode or Claude Code and describe what you want — 'a landing page with three feature sections' — and your agent creates the pages and components. You can also edit templates directly; they're just HTML with a small expression syntax.

Where does my content live?

In your own D1 database and R2 bucket, in your own Cloudflare account. There's no Lumen-hosted backend between you and your data. Images are transformed on the fly at the edge and cached for a year.

Can I self-host or use my own domain?

Yes — Lumen is self-hosted by design. `lumenpages-cms deploy` provisions everything in your Cloudflare account, and you can attach any custom domain with automatic SSL.

What's the best way to get started?

Run `lumenpages-cms create`, connect your coding agent over MCP with the admin token it generates, and ask for a home page. You'll have a running site in minutes — then iterate by describing changes.
